This Cookie Notice explains how BCM International, LLC (DBA “MediAds”) and our partners use cookies and similar technologies in connection with advertising delivered through the MediAds network. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information more generally.
Contents
1. What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small text file that a web server sends to your device, allowing a website to remember information about your visit — such as your preferences or whether you have seen certain content. Alongside cookies, websites use related technologies that work in a similar way, including tags, web beacons, pixels, local storage, and software development kits (SDKs) in apps. In this Notice, we refer to all of these collectively as “cookies.”
2. First- and Third-Party Cookies
First-party cookies are set by the website you are visiting. Third-party cookies are set by a domain other than the one you are visiting — for example, by MediAds or our advertising and measurement partners when advertising is served on a Publisher’s site. Cookies may be session cookies, which expire when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain for a set period or until you delete them.
3. Categories We Use
We group the cookies used in advertising delivered through MediAds into the following categories. The specific cookies within each category — and the partners that set them — are listed in the always-current sources described in the next section.
| Category | Purpose | Typical party |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Enable core functionality such as securely delivering advertising and remembering your privacy choices. These are required for the service to work and are not used for personalization. | First / third |
| Consent & privacy | Store and communicate your consent and opt-out choices (for example, the consent strings generated by the consent management platform, and signals such as Global Privacy Control). These ensure your choices are respected across the advertising supply chain. | First / third |
| Advertising & targeting | Recognize your browser or device, deliver advertising (including interest-based advertising where permitted), limit how often you see an ad, and support bidding among advertising partners. | Third |
| Measurement & analytics | Measure whether and how advertising is viewed and interacted with, and report on performance in aggregate. | First / third |
| Fraud prevention & security | Detect and prevent invalid traffic, fraud, and abuse, and help keep advertising delivery secure. | Third |
| Audience matching | Where a Publisher provides hashed (irreversibly transformed) identifiers for logged-in healthcare professionals, support relevant advertising to those professionals. Raw contact details are never stored in these cookies. See our Privacy Policy for details. | First / third |
4. The Live Vendor & Cookie List
The advertising ecosystem changes frequently, so rather than publish a static list of individual cookies that would quickly go out of date, we point you to the authoritative, always-current sources:
- The consent management platform on participating sites — the preferences screen lists the specific vendors and purposes that apply to you, based on your location, and lets you set your choices.
- The IAB Global Vendor List — the full set of vendors registered under the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework, with each vendor’s declared purposes and privacy policy.
- Our Advertising Partners page — our principal partners, each linking to its own privacy and cookie practices, plus links to the Google Ad Technology Providers list and other industry resources.
Because these lists are maintained to reflect current participants, they are the most accurate and complete record of the specific cookies and vendors in use.
5. Managing Your Cookies
You have several ways to control cookies used for advertising:
- “Your Privacy Choices” link — on participating U.S. sites, opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC) — where supported, we honor the GPC browser signal as a valid opt-out. If your browser or extension sends GPC, your choice is applied automatically.
- EU/UK consent banner — on participating EU/UK sites, grant or withdraw consent and set your preferences through the banner.
- Industry opt-outs — manage interest-based advertising at youradchoices.com and similar programs.
- Browser and device settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies and reset advertising identifiers. Consult your browser’s or device’s help resources for instructions.
Your choices are generally stored on the specific browser or device where you make them. If you clear your cookies or use a different browser or device, you may need to set your preferences again.
6. If You Reject Cookies
Disabling cookies may limit access to certain content or features on a website. Rejecting advertising cookies does not remove advertising — you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized rather than based on your interests. Strictly necessary and consent cookies may still be used, as they are required to deliver the service and to record your choices.
7. Changes to This Notice
We may update this Cookie Notice from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. We encourage you to review this Notice periodically.
